Does the Netflix owner know what you watch?
Because profiles aren't locked, anyone using your account on a computer or streaming gadget can see what you've been watching.
Netflix keeps tabs on all your registered devices under your account, and you can check the list whenever you sign in. Verify which devices are connected, or remove and replace them with a newer device through the Membership Plan section of your account page.
No, downloaded episodes and movies are only stored locally on your device. If you want to access downloaded content from a certain device, you'll need to download the episode or movie on it specifically.
You can see the TV shows and movies that have been watched on each profile on your account. From a web browser, go to your Account page. Open the Profile & Parental Controls settings for the profile you want to see. Open Viewing activity.
If you are using Netflix on your browser, cookies and web beacons can be used to collect information about your interests. This is still the case if you use a tablet, smartphone, or streaming device, via device identifiers.
Netflix says it uses a combination of IP addresses, device IDs, and “account activity from devices signed into the Netflix account” to determine if an account is being used in the primary account holder's household.
There was a time when Netflix imposed a maximum number of devices that could be connected to your account. But that limitation no longer exists — you can log into Netflix with as many devices as you like, as long as you don't try to stream from too many at once.
From the Netflix home screen navigate to Account > Recent device streaming activity to see a list of recent dates, times, IP addresses, locations, and types of devices that accessed your account.
If you have the Basic plan, only one screen, or one user, is allowed to watch at the same time. On the Standard plan, you are upgraded to two screens, or two users, being able to watch at the same time. With the Premium plan, four screens, or four users, can stream at the same time.
The amount of time depends on individual licenses, and can vary by title. Titles that are expiring from your device in less than 7 days will display the amount of time you have left on the Downloads page of the Netflix app. Some titles will expire 48 hours after you first press play.
How many downloads are you allowed on Netflix?
According to the Netflix Help Center, the limit is 100 per user and 100 per device. The number will depend on the memory capacity of your device, with each download taking up space. Downloaded content is stored on the internal storage of the device being used until it is deleted.
- Step 1: View Homepage.
- Step 2: Select "Account"
- Step 3: Open Viewing Activity.
- Step 4: Find the Show to Delete.
- Step 5: Clear an Entire Show.

Finding your viewing history on Netflix is a simple affair. Visit Netflix.com, ensure you're logged in and then hover over your profile name. Select Your Account from the menu. Now, scroll down to the bottom and select Viewing Activity.
After 24 hours, Netflix will erase your history.
Netflix Is Against Password Sharing
So, sharing your Netflix password with anyone is against the company's Terms of Use, and if you're caught, it could cost you your account.
Screen limits aren't applied to individual users either. One user (profile) can watch Netflix on up to 4 screens at once, or multiple users can watch on their own screens. The only limit is a Netflix account with a Premium plan can stream to only 4 different screens simultaneously.
The Basic plan, which costs $9.99 per month, allows you to watch Netflix on one screen only. With a Standard subscription for $15.49 a month, you can watch Netflix on two screens at the same time. Those with a Premium Netflix plan, at $19.99 a month, are able to watch Netflix on four screens at once.
Currently, a Netflix account holder can add up to five profiles to their account. Those profiles will become sub-accounts that cost money starting in early 2023. Netflix will now only allow one "home" per account, and additional homes will need to pay extra to use the same account, the company announced this week.
If Netflix detects VPN IP addresses, it will throw up the streaming error code m7111-1331-5059 and temporarily block you from the Netflix servers. This type of ban isn't unusual — other streaming services (like Amazon Prime Video, BBC iPlayer and more) also have VPN bans in place.
Netflix can ban users from the platfrom if they are found breaking the rules. Netflix will ban your account if you use VPN. Netflix recently reported that it lost over 200,000 subscribers.
What data does Netflix collect?
Netflix itself automatically collects other forms of data, such as the platform used to watch Netflix, a user's watch history, search queries, and time spent watching a show. The company also collects some bits of data from other sources, such as demographic data, interest-based data, and Internet browsing behavior.
Netflix does not offer free trials, but you have the freedom to change your plan or cancel online at any time if you decide Netflix isn't for you. There are no contracts, no cancellation fees, and no commitments. You can sign up and take advantage of all Netflix has to offer.
According to the update by Netflix, those on Standard and Premium plans will be able to add up to two new sub accounts for people they don't live with - each with their own profile, personalised recommendations, login and password.
A Netflix monthly subscription costs anywhere from $6.99 to $19.99. Netflix's new Basic with Ads plan costs $6.99 per month. The Standard DVD and Blu-ray plan start at $9.99 monthly, and the Premier plan starts at $14.99.
