What happened to Isaiah Edwards family on Little House on the Prairie?

Edwards is brought to the Ingalls' new home near Walnut Grove, and eventually gets a place of his own. It is about this time he reveals his past: He became an alcoholic after his first wife and young daughter died of smallpox, and renounced his Christian faith as a result.

Michael Landon and Victor French had a 'falling out'

He recalled French receiving an offer for a sitcom, which the actor decided to take after getting frustrated with his Little House contract. Landon responded by removing the Edwards family from the show.

In season 5's There's No Place Like Home: Part 2, Lars Hanson told Doc Baker he had settled there and founded Walnut Grove 50 years ago. A sign shown at the end says Lars founded the town in 1840, which would put The Return of Mr. Edwards in 1891 or later.

Their stay in Walnut Grove was cut short by crop failures in 1875 and 1876 caused by the grasshopper plague that was sweeping the area. Bonnie Bartlett played Grace Snyder, who married Isaiah Edwards. She doesn't die, she divorces him because he is an alcoholic after John Jrs death. The character Pitbulllvr1 is referring to is not Grace Garvey, but Alice Garvey. And she is not played by Bonnie Bartlett.

Some time later, she writes Isaiah telling him that she has become involved with a man named Nathan Sims and has filed the divorce papers. She and her new husband's life was good and they lived happily thereafter. (Episode 819: A Promise to Keep) She was never seen in Walnut Grove again.

In addition, the oldest son of the family tried to get rid of them, going so far as to frame James for stealing. Therefore, James and Cassandra put an end to it. They decided to run away. After becoming well-established in the Ingalls' household, their uncle Jed Cooper came to visit them in Walnut Grove.

Victor French

He reportedly died from lung cancer. French worked with Landon before joining him on Little House on the Prairie. From 1962 to 1971, he appeared in five episodes of Bonanza. French played Isaiah Edwards on Little House from 1974 to 1983.

He escaped and later became the adoptive son of Isaiah Edwards until his biological father who was searching for him found him and took him home with him.

A mile and a half north of town is the site of the dugout where the Ingalls family lived before building their house. The land is now owned by the Gordon family, who welcome visitors to come see the plum thickets, table lands, big rock and spring that Laura described in the book.

First life in Walnut Grove

The Ingalls family settled in Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Shortly after their arrival, Charles was picking up some merchandise for Nels Oleson when he found Isaiah drunk in a saloon. After sobering him up, Charles persuaded to come to Walnut Grove and visit the family.

Adam and Mary leave for New York where Adam intends to practice law, Percival and Nellie go for New York to take over his father's business, Willie starts growing up and changing his ways, and Almanzo suffers a stroke and nearly becomes permanently disabled.

On 27th August 1876, little Freddie, Charles' and Caroline's only son, died aged nearly 10 months. A few weeks later they left the area for Burr Oak Iowa, USA. Freddie was buried locally but no one knows where.

Katherine MacGregor who played Harriet Oleson in all 9 seasons of the series was not available to appear in The Last Farewell because she had become a Hindu and was on a pilgrimage to India while they were making this final episode movie.

Due to economic problems, the Ingalls, Olesons and Garveys leave Walnut Grove and settle in Winoka for a time. However, they find that the hustle and bustle of the town just isn't for them. They leave Winoka to find Walnut Grove in poor shape and vow to restore it.

Laura Ingalls lived 1.5 miles north of Walnut Grove along the banks of Plum Creek from 1874 to 1876. Charles and Caroline Ingalls settled on the property in May 1874, declaring their intent to homestead it. After three consecutive crop failures they decided not to complete the homestead process.

Diabetes ran in the Ingalls family and Grace and her sisters all succumbed to complications from the disease. Laura Ingalls Wilder was the longest-lived Ingalls daughter by far, outliving Mary by 29, Carrie by 11 and Grace by 16 years.

In 1891 they went to Tillamook, Oregon, where Nellie taught school and in 1893 married Henry Francis Kirry (1869–1951). They moved to Bay City, Oregon and had three children; Zola (1894–1986), Lloyd (1896–1961) and Leslie (1900–1931).
