What was the problem in Interstellar?
The Blight is a plague that has ravaged almost all the remaining food sources on Earth. By the time Interstellar occurs, the last crops of okra are dying off, leaving just corn as the only viable food source for humanity.
Interstellar, as everyone has noted, is a stupendously ambitious movie. It's also pretty complicated—and not just because of the science involved. If you're like us, you probably walked out of the theater with a bunch of questions.
The first planet they land on is close to a supermassive black hole, dubbed Gargantuan, whose gravitational pull causes massive waves on the planet that toss their spacecraft about. Its proximity to the black hole also causes an extreme time dilation, where one hour on the distant planet equals 7 years on Earth.
A major theme in Interstellar is that of isolation and loneliness, and how they test our ability to think rationally and operate from an ethical standpoint as opposed to a mere survivalist one. Over the course of the film, some characters, like Dr. Mann, abandon everything they stand for in order to stay alive.
The dust storms are caused by the Blight, a plague of general horror that has killed Earth's crops. The Blight is never explained; certain theories persist that the Blight is caused by Sauron.
Ranger 1 softly landing on Miller's planet. Miller's planet is a waterworld, covered in a seemingly endless, shallow ocean. The planet's gravity is described to be "punishing" at 130% of Earth's, forcing human astronauts to move slowly and with some difficulty while on its surface.

But there is one aspect of plunging into an interstellar express that the film doesn't address: How do you survive the trip? Although they didn't call it such, the original wormhole was the brainchild of Albert Einstein and his assistant Nathan Rosen.
As we know, there are 3,600 seconds in an hour. They mention in the movie that every hour on the planet is roughly 7 years in Earth time. 7 years is 221,000,000 seconds. Take 221,000,000/3,600 and you get roughly 61,400 seconds that pass on Earth for every second spent on the water planet.
The clocks in space tick more slowly than clocks on Earth., HENCE COVERING LESS TIME AS COMPARED TO EARTH IN THE SAME DURATION. One hour on Earth is 0.0026 seconds in space. Thus, upon calculation we find that one hour on Earth is equivalent to seven years in space.
Did Cooper send himself the coordinates?
Cooper sends himself the coordinates of NASA's facility from the future, which sets the story in motion. But how would he have found that facility the first time around (Loop1)? In order to enter a recurring time-loop, there has to be a first set of events that leads into it.
After falling into the black hole, Cooper continues to record what he's seeing and transmits it back to TARS, hoping the additional data might help the scientists back on Earth. Although he expects to eventually get crushed by Gargantua's gravity, Cooper is miraculously spared once his shuttle is ripped apart.

Professor Brand (Michael Caine) reveals to Murph (Jessica Chastain) that Plan A -- transporting humans from Earth to the new home planet -- is a complete sham because the gravity equation required to get the stations into space needs data from within a black hole.
Cooper and Brand make it back to the Endurance to find an aged and gray Romilly in a robe -- 23 Earth years have passed and Romilly has spent most of the time waiting with a couple of stretches in cryosleep. It is now about the year 2090 on Earth.
The beginning of the film introduces viewers to the primary antagonist- a blight that is killing off the world's food crops. Okra and corn are the last two vestige food crops for the human race and okra just bit the dust, with corn not too far behind.
It is then revealed that he and Professor Brand knew that Plan A was impossible and that the only contingency that allowed for human continuity was Plan B. Mann did not want Cooper to return to Earth with the Endurance, as he now needed it to reach Edmunds' planet with the remaining crew to start a colony.
History. NASA had observed a disturbance of space-time within the orbit of Saturn, about 48 years prior to the start of the film. This gravitational anomaly was discovered to be a wormhole.
Dr. Mann was marooned on this planet for 35 years, as evidenced by the 23-year time dilation on Miller, the two-year trip to Saturn and the launch of the Lazarus missions which predated Endurance's launch by ten years.
But Romilly waits around for 23 years in space, bored out of his mind, somehow manages to keep his wits together, only to get blown up by sad Matt Damon. From Romilly's perspective, this movie was a total tragedy. 8. Speaking of which, let's talk for a minute about Damon's character Dr.
In Interstellar on the water planet, the soundtrack in the background has a prominent ticking noise. These ticks happen every 1.25 seconds. Each tick you hear is a whole day passing on Earth.

Presently, there are no plans for a sequel film. So, the viewers will have to satisfy themselves with Nolan's masterpiece and the only Interstellar movie made in 2014.

This allows them to create wormholes and higher-dimensional tesseracts (such as the one where Cooper was contained inside the black hole).
Given that at one scene in the film, Grandpa finds the fact that there used to be 6 billion people on Earth almost unbelievable. At that time, there may have been only a couple billion or a few hundred million people living on Earth during the events of the film.

Wormholes are shortcuts in spacetime, popular with science fiction authors and movie directors. They've never been seen, but according to Einstein's general theory of relativity, they might exist.
The truth is that interstellar travel and exploration is technically possible. There's no law of physics that outright forbids it. But that doesn't necessarily make it easy, and it certainly doesn't mean we'll achieve it in our lifetimes, let alone this century. Interstellar space travel is a real pain in the neck.
Christopher Nolan's Interstellar relies heavily on the concepts of time, gravity and relativity to carry the audience through its complex (and at times confounding) science-fiction plot.
